From the round table of Arthur Pensteam.

Heyo, heyo.

This picture of the Utah wilderness is dated circa 2008, so any blurriness you notice is not from a developing case of cateracts on your end.

While we may not be at the depraved depths of the bleak midwinter, this time of year usually has me at my most Tommy Shelby, brooding, addictive, caught in inner turmoil. It seems to be a common plague for many people. It's not the cold, but the imbalance of light and dark. I'll note that, oddly enough, I am affected midsummer in the same fashion (is it even mid anymore? Summer lasts until like September).

However, things are different this year. As I dictate my initial draft, I lie on my bed, with one cat snuggled on my arm, the other on the pillow. I face down the impending barrel of my marriage with nothing but eagerness and excitement. I feel a strength and a joy that has proven elusive in the past few years. It is a refreshing change.

Last night, inspiration struck me like lightning - the artist's fantasy. It's really nice when you feel that one stubborn creative domino falls, when the ideas crash like a rising tide.

I know I haven't mentioned it, and it will likely exist as mere teasers and unsubtle hints for a while, but I'm plotting out the basis of a five part fantasy series. It was this worldbuilding that swept me away until the wee hours of the morning.

Not that there's a rush to get it out. I imagine I'll finally get to writing it in 45 years, right after Zoo Crew finishes its seventy-seventh round of editing and releases to a dessicated public soured on my unfulfilled promises.

My fianceé says I have a flair for performative drama. She may be right.

I won't beat around the bush about it - 99¢ Free Verse Garbage has been delayed due to a couple of things outside of my control. As they say, que cera, Michael Cera. But, rest assured, both it and the Random Brew Generator blog will be up and running in early January.

Anyways. I feel pretty lucky that I have an officially launched the website yet, or else I'd have to draft a longer apology. As such, if you are seeing this in retrospect, thanks for looking backwards, and if you are seeing this presently, thank you for your patience. May your past be ever better, and your present, surpass it in goodness.
